Model of teaching by using videos

 

Design a model of teaching by using videos and describe it in about 1000 words.

    Video is a better medium then text or audio as in addition to its ability to offer text and sound it can also offer dynamic or moving pictures . Thus while it can offer all the affordance of audio and some of the text, it also has unique pedagogical characteristics of its own.


In this ICT based generation teaching by using a videos is most effective ways of teaching and learning. By using a video we can deliver a quality education because in video teaching, in addition with audio we can add text and movable pictures. So that every student can learn easily.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now days students mainly used to learn by watching video on You Tube so providing a interesting knowledgeable video about a topic to be teach student can learn easily without getting bored. 



In traditional type of teaching :

               A teacher used to deliver a lecture from front where a student used to listen by sitting in the bench. It is bored for the student because they should listen in any condition either they will miss it. In this type of teaching student who can see and listen only can learn.

    In video teaching student can learn by watching videos in any time, in any condition, in any place which is much better way of learning .It is suitable for lower level student and for higher level student and for the small child also . child can learn by watching videos .For the lower level student they can watch video to learn different topics without getting bored as they may not listen carefully to the teacher they can watch video . Interesting videos about topics to the lower level student is good. They can watch for many times to understand the topics. For the higher level student learning by watching videos is more effective as every student can watch it in any time . They can watch in there suitable time.  Student reading in higher education may not have time to go college as they also need to work also.

       For the teacher it is very easy to teach by using videos. Teacher can make a good videos about a topics and circulate it to the student. By this method one teacher can teach thousands and thousands of student which saves time, teacher can make videos from one place and send it to the student in every place of earth by using ICT .Teacher have many time to prepare and make good video about the topics, by editing and joining many photos related to the topics teacher can make good videos which makes student interesting to watch. standing in front of student and giving lecture for many student may cause error and teacher may get tired . teachers can use the videos available  in the internet to teach. Teachers can guide by seating in front of student and play and replay the videos to teach the students.

One factor that makes video powerful for learning is its ability to show the relationship between concrete examples and abstract principles, with usually the sound track relating the abstract principles to concrete event shown in the video. Video is particularly useful for recording events or situations where it would be too difficult, dangerous, expensive or impractical to bring students to such events . videos in particular is often attractive as a means to capture lecture content and present direct instruction. Of all the technological components involved in the learning experience, it is often the most resource intensive. It is easy then to assume that it will be the most impactful.

Methods that we can use when teaching by using a videos:

·       First of all, the student need to know how to open the videos and the safe use of ICT. So the teacher should guide the student who are not able to watch the video.

·       Teachers need to know the access of network for all the student who are studying in online.

·       Teacher should provide the good quality videos with interesting content by making themselves or through the internet .

·       We can provide online or offline videos for the student so every student can learn in there favourable time, for this we need to develop a application .

·       Regular monitoring and feedback should be given to the learning student through online or by guiding through face to face contact if possible.

·       In the context of Nepal , networking is the main problem so we should provide offline videos also. In Nepal due to the difficulties in the geography traditional type of teaching and learbning is difficult so teaching and learning through videos is the best way of learning .  

·       In this ICT based world video teaching and learning is the best way to get right to read and write so this method is most relevant way to teach.


 In conclusion

In context of Nepal teaching through video is one of the best way to improve the literacy rate. Due to the lack of physical infrastructure in remote area there is no good facility to learn in   class room. In the remote village there are house far and far from others so building a school in the center is nearly impossible so if we start teaching through a videos those people living in this type of village will get a good chance to learn. In the other side if we could teach through videos the people from remote and urban area can get good education. Which saves our time so this methods of teaching will help for all the people who wants to learn seating in their own home or going to school.
